Parish Bible Reading Group

Just a reminder that the next session of the Parish Bible reading group will be on Wednesday 21st January at 2pm in the Parish Room.

We will be having a look at St Paul’s letter(s) to the Thessalonians, both quite short letters.

Thessalonica was a town that he visited during his Second Journey (AD 49-51), the capital of the Roman province of Macedonia. (Acts 17:1-9).

The two letters written to the Church in Thessalonica seem to have been written from Corinth towards the end of this “second journey”.

“Along with the letter to the Galatians these two letters are the earliest of St Paul’s surviving writings and probably the oldest writing in the New Testament. They were written only 20 years after the crucifixion.” [ extract from The Lion handbook to the Bible]?

It would be lovely for more Parishioners to join the group and share the readings and reflections on the above.  Any questions or more information required, please contact Andy Palfreman at palfremanandy@gmail.com
